The Biotechnology Department in Asia University began in 2003. With the “Health, Care, Innovation and Excellence” in mind, all the faculty and staffs in the Biotechnology Department are committed to research and education, as well as actively participate in the school goals to achieve the “Whole-Person Education” and “Education of Love”, reach top quality in teaching, research and service, and establish good learning environment. The final goals are to fulfill “excellence in teaching”, “internationalization in research” and “quality service in community” as well as to promote overall competition and train biotechnology professionals.

Based on the availability of resources in Asia University, the future teaching and research goals as well as strategies in the Biotechnology Department are set according to the current development in biotechnology industry in domestic and international.

Continue to obtain “The Education Award for Teaching Excellence” supported by Department of Education and be ranked top three in the country

The biotechnology industry is one of the six emerging industries and is the main stream for future development. To obtain the continuation of “The Education Award for Teaching Excellence” supported by Department of Education and be ranked top three in the country, the Department designs three main academic programs, “Microbial Biotechnology Program”, “Medical Biotechnology Program” and “Applied Biotechnology Program”. All the faculty in the Department are involved in planning and executing the proposal for “The Education Award for Teaching Excellence” as well as integrating the Departmental Programs and the proposals. Through the development of the six emerging industries, interaction of the academic and industrial, meeting challenges, solving problems and turning ideas into reality, the Department hopes to elevate teaching quality and learning environment as well as enrich the academic programs offered in the Department to continuously obtain “The Education Award for Teaching Excellence”
